more accurate ETA’s will result. Local UTC offsets can be entered
at the departure and arrival locations to display local times. Any of
the four times may be entered, and the other three will be calculated

PERF KEY
Press the PERF key to access PERF 1/X. PERF 1/1 provides a
synopsis of pertinent inflight performance information. Some aircraft
will utilize advanced performance features, with pages for Takeoff,
Climb/Cruise and Landing data. Refer to AIRCRAFT
PERFORMANCE SUPPLEMENT in the Appendix Section for full
description of performance mode.
TUNE KEY
TUNE Operation
Frequency Management is available when the optional Radio Tuning
Unit (RTU) is installed, when the aircraft is configured with Collins
Pro Line 4, when an AN/ARN-118 TACAN is installed, or when a 709
DME and 711 VOR is installed. Tuning radios or storing preset
frequencies does not affect the normal operation of the radio control
heads. Manual frequency selections made on the radio control
heads, which have priority over the remote tune input can be viewed
on the FMS display as the new active frequency. If an RTU, Pro
Line 4, AN/ARN-118 TACAN or 709 DME and 711 VOR is not
installed, this mode is not functional and the screen will read “MODE
NOT OPERATIONAL”.
The TUNE page is used to tune the aircraft's radios, select and store
preselected frequencies for each radio, and to view the selected
frequencies (active and preset) for each radio. The TUNE page is
accessed from any mode by pressing the TUNE function key.

MANUAL AFFECTED: Operators Manuals, Report No.
2423sv602, 2423sv603, 2423sv702 and 2423sv703.
FILING INSTRUCTIONS: Insert this Temporary Change into
the Operators Manual Adjacent to Page 2-26.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Revise the first paragraph under TUNE
Operation to read as follows;
2. Add the second paragraph below TUNE
Operation.
Frequency Management is available when the optional Radio Tuning Unit
(RTU) is installed, when the aircraft is configured with Collins ProLine 4,
Primus 1000, when an AN/ARN-118 TACAN is installed or when a 709
DME and 711 VOR is installed. Tuning radios or storing preset
frequencies does not affect the normal operation of radio control heads.
Manual frequency selections made on the radio control heads, which have
priority over the remote tune input can be viewed on the FMS display as
the new active frequency. If none of the equipment mentioned above is
installed, this mode is not functional and the FMS screen will read MODE
NOT OPERATIONAL.
Some control heads such as the Collins RTU-422C are now capable of
tuning to 8.33 kHz spacing channels. When 8.33 kHz channels are selected
on the control head, the FMS display will show dashes rather than the
frequency. This is because the FMS will only recognize 25 kHz channels.
RTU tuning is not affected by the display dashes.

When first accessed, the page will initially display the last tuned
radio with the cursor over the active frequency.
The selectable radios are displayed next to the line select keys and
a control window is located in the center of the display. Any
applicable radio may be placed into the control window by pressing
the line select key for that radio.
The control window shows the selected radio, the active frequency,
and up to four preset frequencies. When the TUNE page is first
accessed, the control window will contain the active and preset
frequencies of the last radio tuned and the cursor will be on the
active frequency field. A new frequency may be entered into the
active frequency either directly through the numeric keys or by
inputting the reference number (1-4) of one of the preset
frequencies. The frequency input is completed by pressing the
ENTER key. ACT is displayed next to the actively received
