(a)
Clean the new packings (2) with the cotton cloth which has the aliphatic naptha solvent on it.
(b)
Make the packing (2) dry with the clean, lint-free, cotton cloth. 1) Do not let the aliphatic naptha solvent become dry.
(c)
Examine the packing grooves in the transfer tube (1) and adapter (5) and packing mating surfaces in each end of the fuel flow transmitter (4). 1) Make sure the surfaces have no damage or unwanted material.
(d)
Clean the packing grooves in the transfer tube (1) and adapter (5) and packing mating surfaces in each end of the fuel flow transmitter (4) with the cotton cloth which has MEK.
(e)
Make the transfer tube (1), adapter (5) and packing mating surfaces dry with the clean, lint-free, cotton cloth. 1) Do not let the MAK become dry.
(f)
Lubricate the packings (2) with the petrolatum.
(g)
Install the packings (2) in the groove on the transfer tube (1) and adapter (5).

Put the gasket (3) on the transfer tube (1) with the alignment hole in the gasket aligns with the recess in the flange of the transfer tube.
