3) Discard the key washer used with the nut.
CAUTION: DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER UNTIL IT IS
_______ DISENGAGED FROM THE INNER BRACKET. IF YOU TURN THE SPEED TRANSDUCER WHEN IT IS ENGAGED WITH THE INNER BRACKET, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER.
(e) Use the jackscrews to break the interface between the flange of the EEC speed transducer and the intermediate case and remove the EEC speed transducer from the engine.
NOTE: The jackscrew holes are 0.190-32 UNJF thread.

(f)
Discard the three packings from the EEC speed transducer.
(g)
Install a protection cap on the opening in the intermediate case.

(1)
Install the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag on the applicable FUEL CONTROL switch.

Examine the tip clearance for the EEC speed transducer.
(a)
Apply the beeswax to the flat surface on the end of the shaft for the EEC speed transducer, approximately 0.07 inch (1.8 mm) in thickness.
(b)
Put the Class 1 shim on the end of the shaft, against the shoulder.
NOTE: Do not install the three packings on the EEC speed
____
transducer at this time.
CAUTION: INSTALL THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER WITH THE LARGER
_______ ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR TO THE REAR. DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER WHEN IT IS ENGAGED WITH THE INNER BRACKET. IF YOU TURN THE SPEED TRANSDUCER WHEN IT IS ENGAGED WITH THE INNER BRACKET, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EEC SPEED TRANSDUCER.
(c)
Carefully install the EEC speed transducer in the intermediate case with the larger electrical connector to the rear.
(d)
Install the EEC speed transducer with the steps that follow:
1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts, which attach the EEC speed transducer, with engine oil.
