F. Procedure

(1)
Drain the fuel from the fuel pump:
(a)
Put the container below the fuel pump.
(b)
Remove the drain plug (18) from the FP3 port of the fuel pump.
(c)
Let the fuel drain into the container.
(d)
Discard the packing (17).
(e)
Lubricate a new packing (17) with the petrolatum.
(f)
Install the new packing (17) on the plug (18).
(g)
Lubricate the threads of the drain plug (18) with engine oil.
(h)
Install the drain plug (18) in the FP3 port on the fuel pump.
(i)
Tighten the plug (18) to 45-55 pound-inches (5.1-6.2 newton-meters).
(j)
Install the lockwire on the plug (18).

Remove the FMU:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connectors (6, 6A, and 31):
1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (6 and 6A) W4P2 and W5P1 from the FMU M3108 (5). a) Install the caps on the open ends of the electrical
connectors (6 and 6A).
2) Disconnect the electrical connector DM3108 (31) from the FMU (5). a) Install the cap on the open end of the electrical
connector (31).
(b) Disconnect the supply tube (2) for the fuel distribution valve: 1) Remove the bolt (4) which attaches the clamps (3) for the EEC wire harness to the support bracket.
2) Remove the bolt (11) and the nut (12) which attach the clamp (9) to the clamp (10).
NOTE: The clamp (10) is on the oil return tube for the
____ air/oil heat exchanger of the IDG.
3) Remove the bolt (4A) which installs the clamp (3A) to the HPC case bracket. 4) Remove the bolt (11A) and the nut (12A) which install the clamp (9A) to the HPC bracket. 5) Disconnect the tube nuts (1) from the adapter for the fuel
flow transmitter and the adapter (27) for FMU. 6) Move the tube (2) away from the FMU (5). 7) Discard the retainers (7) and packings (8). 8) Install the caps on the open ends of the tube (2), the
