Connect the EEC programming plug to the J9DEP receptacle on the EEC with the steps that follow (AMM 70-24-05/201):

 (a)  
Examine the EEC programming plug and receptacle for bent pins or sockets, and contamination. 1) If it is necessary, carefully make the bent pins straight. 2) If it is necessary, clean the contamination.

 (b)  
Replace the EEC which has damaged sockets (AMM 73-21-04/401).

 (c)  
Align the keyway and push the EEC programming plug into the receptacle.

 (d)  
While you push in on the EEC programming plug, tighten the coupling ring with your hand.


 NOTE: The EEC programming plug is correctly installed when you
____ cannot see the color band nearest to the threads.

Attach the lanyard for the EEC programming plug to the top rear support bracket of the EEC with a rivet pin and collar.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.

For the applicable engine, remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers as follows:

 (a)  
P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6G15 SCU ALT PWR ENG 1
 2) 6G23 ENG SCU 1
 3) 6G16 SCU ALT PWR ENG 2
 4) 6G24 ENG SCU 2
 5) 6G17 SCU ALT PWR ENG 3
 6) 6G25 ENG SCU 3
 7) 6G18 SCU ALT PWR ENG 4
 8) 6G26 ENG SCU 4

Operate the EEC MAINT ENG 1 (2, 3, or 4) POWER switch on the pilot's overhead maintenance panel, P461, with the steps that follow:

 (a)  
Set the EEC MAINT ENG 1 (2, 3, or 4) POWER switch to TEST.

 (b)  
After 10 seconds, set the switch to NORM.

 (4)  Do the test of the EEC Programming Plug that is shown in the Power Plant Test Reference Table (AMM 71-00-00/501).

EEC FUEL TEMPERATURE THERMOCOUPLE PROBE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure gives the instructions to remove and install the thermocouple probe for the EEC fuel temperature (fuel temperature probe).
 B.  The fuel temperature probe is installed on the top end of the fuel filter housing on the fuel pump. The fuel pump is attached on the forward face of the main gearbox at the 4 o'clock position.
 C.  You can get access to the fuel temperature probe through the right thrust reverser.

 2.  Remove the EEC Fuel Temperature Thermocouple Probe (Fig. 401)
