(2) Open the right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

CAUTION:_______DO NOT REMOVE THE PROGRAMMING PLUG FROM THE ENGINE. YOU MUST KEEP THE PROGRAMMING PLUG WITH THE ENGINE WHEN YOU REPLACE THE EEC. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, YOU CAN GET AN INCORRECT THRUST RATING.

Disconnect the programming plug (1) from the J9DEP receptacle on the EEC (2).
(a)
Install the protection caps on the open end of the programming plug (1).

Disconnect the electrical connector DM7198A (3) and the electrical connector DM7198B (23) from the receptacles on the EEC (2).

Disconnect the electrical connectors (4, 5, 6, 20, 21, and 22) from the receptacles on the EEC (2).

Install the protection cap on the open ends of the electrical connectors (3, 4, 5, 6, 20, 21, 22, and 23).

Disconnect the hoses (12, 13, 14, and 15) from the ports on the bottom of the EEC (2).

Install the protection cap on the open ends of the hoses (12, 13, 14, and 15) and the open ports on the EEC (2).

Remove the bolt (24) which attaches the ground strap (25) to the EEC (2).

Remove the bolts (27), through the shock mounts, and washers (26) which attach the EEC (2) to the engine brackets.

Remove the EEC (2) from the engine.

If it is necessary to replace the EEC (2), remove the adapters (10, 11, 16, and 17) from the EEC.

Discard the packings (8, 9, 18, and 19).

(13) Install the protection cap on the openings in the EEC (2).
