(a) Install the protection caps on the open ends of the electrical connectors.

Remove the bolts (18, 20) which attach the ends of the cable for the stator (17) and the retaining plate (21) to the bracket.

Disconnect this cooling air tube (14) from the stator (17).

ENGINES POST-PW-SB 72-375;
Do these steps:
(a)
Loosen the hose clamp (13) for the cooling air tube (14) located at the bottom of the stator (17).
(b)
Remove the bolts and/or nuts from the clamps that attach the cooling air tube to the brackets on the gearbox, oil tank, and diffuser case.
(c)
Move the tube away from the EEC alternator.
NOTE: The clamps can stay with the tube.

(d)
Remove the bolts (11) and washer (19) which attach the stator (17) to the EEC alternator drive pad.
(e)
Remove the stator (17) from the gearbox.
1) Discard the packing (15).

ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 72-375;
Do these steps:
(a)
Remove the bolt (18) which attaches the clamp (16) on the stator cable to the bracket on the right side of the stator.
(b)
Remove the clamp (16) from the cable for the stator (17).
(c)
Remove the bolts (11) and washer (19) which attach the stator (17) and the heat shield (12) to the EEC alternator drive pad.
(d)
Remove the stator (17) and the heat shield (12) from the gearbox. 1) Discard the packing (15).

(20) Install the protection cap on the EEC alternator drive pad and the open end of the stator (17).
