3. Job Set-up
__________
Subtask 32-51-00-941-052
A. General
(1)
Put a warning placard in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the landing gear or the N/WS.
(2)
On the panel 400VU, make sure that the L/G normal control lever is in the DOWN position.
(3)
On the nose gear leg, on the nose wheel steering deactivation electrical box, make sure that the towing lever is in the normal position (engaged position).
(4)
Make sure that the N/WS handwheels and the rudder pedals are in the neutral position.
Subtask 32-51-00-860-065
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Lift the aircraft and compress the NLG shock absorber
(a)
Lift the front of the aircraft until the nosewheels are clear of the ground (Ref. TASK 07-11-00-581-003).
(b)
Compress the NLG shock absorber with a nosewheel jack until the dimension H is less than 350 mm (14.0 in.) (Ref. TASK 07-12-00-582-001). (Ref. Fig. 501/TASK 32-51-00-991-006)
(c)
Make sure that there is a sufficient clearance between the jack and the nosewheels for the nosewheel steering to operate.
(d)
Make sure that you cannot see more than 350 mm (14.0 in.) of the NLG shock absorber dimension H.
NOTE : As an alternative solution, if only jack is not available
____ you can use need two 1.2m (4ft.) square steel plates, for this do as follows:
-Position a steel plate in front of the nosewheels.
