(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2) Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Drain the fuel from the applicable vent surge tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform below the applicable NACA vent intake 550AB, 650AB.
(2)
Remove the applicable wing access panel (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-002):
-550BB, for the left wing
-650BB, for the right wing.

A. Removal of the NACA Vent Intake
(1)
Remove and discard the cable ties (12).
(2)
Remove the nut (11), the washer (10) and the bolt (5) to disconnect the ends of the bonding strips (4) and (9).
(3)
Remove the nut (6) and the bolt (8) to disconnect the end of the bonding strip (7).
(4)
Remove the bolt (2) and the washer (1).
(5)
Pull the elbow-duct assembly (13) away from the NACA vent intake (14).
NOTE : The elbow-duct assembly (13) stays in the bay between RIB23

and RIB24.

Remove and discard the O-ring seal (3).
(7)
Remove the access panel 550AB(650AB) as follows: CAUTION : YOU MUST REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BOLTS IN THE SPECIFIED
_______ SEQUENCE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ACCESS PANEL.
(a)
Loosen the bolts (18) in the sequence A thru AF.
(b)
Hold the NACA vent intake (14) 3.0 kg (6.60 lb) and remove the bolts (18). Carefully remove the NACA vent intake from the wing.
(8) Remove the nut (15), the washer (16), the bolt (17) and the bonding strip (4) from the NACA vent intake (14).
