B. Operational Check of the Wing Tank Pump Pressure Sense Line Check Valves (33QM, 34QM, 35QM and 36QM)
NOTE : This test is to make sure that the check valves have not failed in
____ the open position. These check valves are installed in the primary supply of the wing-tank fuel-scavenge jet-pumps. In normal operation all wing tank fuel-pumps run during flight. If one of these check valves fail in the open position, a fuel-pump failure will not be detected by the related fuel-pump pressure-switch. This is because fuel (under pressure from the active pump) has an unrestricted path to the pressure-switch of the failed pump. The unrestricted path is through the failed open check valve. This only applies to fuel-pumps in the same wing. Fuel-pump failures in the opposite wing will stay detectable.
This check is for the left tank (L TK) pumps. For the right tank (R TK) pumps, use the indications in parentheses.
