AEA was founded in 1957 and represents more than 1,300 aviation businesses including repair stations specializing in
maintenance, repair and installation of avionics and electronic systems in general aviation aircraft.
Their mission statement is to “Be a worldwide, self-sustaining organization committed to enhancing the
profitability of its members.” Their scholarship consists of a $1000 cash award to be given to an
Avionics Technician Student.
Requirements: All AWAM Scholarship Application requirements
Aviation Student Entrepreneur Scholarship
This scholarship is given by the Editor-in-Chief of Aviation Entrepreneur Magazine, Richard Peri. Aviation Entrepreneur Magazine
represents “more than flight” by providing essential business information to help all aviation entrepreneurs start and operate a
successful aviation business. This company wants to help out an Aviation Student Entrepreneur by presenting them with this
scholarship consisting of a $500 cash award.
Requirements:
1. Recipient must be an A&P or Avionics Student at an Aviation Technical school in the USA
2. Recipient must possess Entrepreneurial Leadership in School and/or work
3. Recipient must be located in the USA
“Helping Hand” from Rice Family Scholarships!
The “helping hand” scholarship will provide financial assistance to an aviation student. The scholarship consists of a $500 award.
(Two Scholarships will be awarded.)
Requirements: All AWAM Scholarship Application requirements, plus:
1. Recipient must be a student in an FAA approved, FAR Part 147, Aviation Maintenance Training School.
a. First scholarship will go to a first year female student.
b. Second scholarship will go to a male or female student, in any year of training.
2. Applicant must also submit a short (200 words or less) essay on what drew her/him to a career in Aviation Maintenance.
JetBlue Maintenance Scholarships
JetBlue will offer the following individual scholarships. In addition, they will include a round trip ticket on JetBlue to their facility in
Orlando. Ticket will only be from a JetBlue served city (go to www.jetblue.com to see the cities JetBlue serves).
(Specify which scholarship you are applying for.)
1. Two-day Airbus A320 General Familiarization course.
2. Two-day Embraer E190 General Familiarization course.
Requirements: All AWAM Scholarship Application requirements, plus:
1. Recipient must have an A&P license at the time scholarship is awarded.
2. Applicant must submit a short (200 words or less) essay defining how these courses will enhance her career.

Pratt & Whitney Training Scholarships
Less than 5% of all AMT’s in the world have the opportunity to attend one of Pratt & Whitney’s training courses! Recipients may
choose from any of the courses available at the Pratt & Whitney Customer Training Center in East Hartford, Connecticut, or
Quebec, Canada, provided they meet the individual course requirements and the course is being offered during a time acceptable to
the recipient. A customer training information package containing course descriptions and additional requirements will be provided to
scholarship recipients. Hotel accommodations will be provided by Pratt & Whitney, and includes room and tax only. Any additional
expenses and all meals will be the responsibility of the scholarship recipient. (Six Scholarships will be awarded.)
Requirements: All AWAM Scholarship Application requirements, plus:
1. The applicant must be at least ONE of the following:
a. Licensed aviation maintenance technician
b. Student in an FAA approved, FAR Part 147, Aviation Maintenance Training School
c. Faculty of an aviation school
d. Owner of Pratt & Whitney engine
e. Member of an organization that supports, maintains and overhauls P&W engines
f. Engineer
2. Applicant must include an essay (200 words or less) that explains their interest in aviation and maintenance in particular.
