Fiber Optic MIL-STD-1553 Stub/ARINC429 Extension:
Field proven in Australia at the F18 test lab, the FOMIS System provides a reliable MIL-STD-
1553 Bus Stub and/or ARINC429 extensions, using a Fiber Optic Link to support EMC/EMI
testing of aircraft or missile systems and long run cable lengths between buildings. The new
modular design FOMIS comprises a two part system and requires no software. The FOMIS- F
is modular design ‘front end’ chassis built with a special EMC resistant housing to allow
operation in electro magnetic fields (up to 200V/m) within the test environment. The FOMISL
is a laboratory device build into a 19” rack mount chassis and comprises two sub systems.
Simulator System: MIL-STD-1553 Bi-directional Optical Extension for 1-4 Dual Redundant
MIL-STD-1553 (MILBus) Stubs up to 100m (limited by MIL-STD-1553 response time
extension). (FOL429 Provides ARINC429 16Tx & 16Rx Bi-Directional Channels) .
Monitor System: Uni-directional Optical extension of 1-6 Dual Redundant MIL-STD-1553
Stubs. (FOL429 provides ARINC429 16Rx Channels), for more than 500 Meters.
MIL-STD-170 Weapons Test Sets (WTS):
AIM's MIL-STD-1760 Test Set provides simulation, monitoring, recording and analysis of
aircraft/ stores interfaces using the MIL-STD-1760 standard. The generic and modular design
uses COTS hardware and software components integrated with powerful MIL-STD-1553,
PCI/PCI-X or cPCI based test & simulation modules. The PBA.pro databus analyzer/
visualiser software for provides the powerful user interface including an online 1760 message
editor. Ruggedised/ industrial chassis provides user controlled switching of AC/DC power and
discretes, automatic execution of user defined test sequences , recording and time stamping of
all databus & discrete signals to hard disk, parameter extraction and export of signals for post
analysis with a full function MIL-STD-1553 databus analyser. Project experience: TIALD,

PBA.pro Avionics Test and Analysis application:
PBA.pro is the new generation of Avionics Databus test and analysis software using a modular, fully scaleable approach for developing
high performance test and simulation modules. PBA.pro is a powerful yet cost effective software system covering a wide range of
applications from a stand alone databus analyzer to a complete systems test bench or advanced avionics integration facility.
The software provides complete Databus Analyzer solution for individual avionics data busses such as 1553, or it allows integrating
additional required modules such as ARINC 429, and ARINC 664, into the analyzer software and PC platform to meet your specific
requirements. As such it should be considered as a heterogeneous test platform for avionics data busses. The system is highly scriptable
using Tcl and Python, has easily to build customized displays and panels, which is really cool if you are developing a simulator. It also
provides database management & test reporting.
