4.5.1.1.1 The “Tree View”

This tree represents the XML document. The elements are displayed as nodes with a
specific icon.
Its also shows comments, text annotations, and specific elements inserted in the tree as
leaves and displayed with a specific icon according to their type.
4.5.1.1.2 The “Insert Node Pane”
At the right of the Tree View, the 3 tabs represent the type of nodes that one can insert
into the selected node. Insertion can be:
• After
• Before
• Append child

4.5.1.1.3 The “Attributes Node Pane”
At the bottom left of the tree, a specific tab is used to edit and display the characteristics
of the selected node, with the "Qualified Name" of the attributes of the node and its
corresponding "Value".

The button is used to delete an existing value of an attribute.
Note that if an attribute is defined as optional and if you wish to remove it from the
element, you must use this button and not remove manually the attribute value.
The mandatory attributes are preceded by “!”.
The grayed ones are read only. The authors cannot modify them.
A “generate” button can be used on some of them (such as code) to automatically
regenerate them. (See:4.5.1.4)
Blue color of the font means that the attribute is not valuated. Be careful that this is
different from an empty value!

4.5.1.1.4 The “Help Node Pane”
At the bottom right a contextual help is displayed for the selected node.

4.5.1.1.5 The “Status bar”
At the bottom of the window the path of the selected element in the tree is displayed in
the “Status bar”.

4.5.1.2 Editor functionalities
One representation only of the document is available, the tree view.
4.5.1.2.1 Tree view
The document is displayed in this view in a tree form.
This view offers a visual representation of the structure of the document unit. The type of
Document Unit will define the structures (such as description, abnormal procedure,
normal procedure…).
Every element of the document is editable through this view.
4.5.1.2.1.1 Save document
The functionality “Save document” enables users to save the document on the local
repository. If you close the XML Editor window without saving your document, all your
work is definitively lost. You can save an invalid document but you will have to edit it
again if you want to check it in. The “Preview” tab is disabled as long as the document
