4.3.3 Function “Add Multimedia Document”
The functionality “Add Multimedia Document” enables users to add a multimedia document
to the library. Note that you can only add a multimedia document on the “Working” release.
Activation condition:
The connected user must be authenticated with one of those available profiles:
• Manual responsible profile
• Author profile
The Manual Explorer and the Multimedia Library must be displayed.
Description:
The user may activate the “Add Multimedia Document” functionality by the button of the
Multimedia Manager’s toolbar .
The functionality shows the corresponding dialog box “Add Multimedia document”.

The Document title is a mandatory field.

The user must click on the “Browse…” to open the file chooser or set the path of the file
he wants to insert in “File” field.
The user can insert in the library any type of file.
The file name is mandatory and an error message appears in the banner of the dialog if
it is not set.
If the user inserts a cgm file the “Companion file” field becomes enabled. This field is not
mandatory nevertheless the user can only add a file of type companion, this means that
it must end with the “.cmp” extension.
The mandatory field “Initial version” is preset with 1.
The list of multimedia document is immediately refreshed after a click on the add button.
4.4 Document Unit Viewer
The user can access the “Document Unit Viewer” window, by selecting a Document Unit in the
Manual Explorer tree.
He may activate the functionality “Visualize Document”. The functionality is enabled only if this
user has not already opened a visualization window.
Activation condition:
The connected user must be authenticated with one of those available profiles:
• Manual responsible profile
• Author profile
The Manual Explorer is displayed on an opened manual.
A Document Unit is selected in the Explorer tree.
Description:
The user must select a Document Unit in the Explorer tree and activates the “Visualize
Document” functionality with the item menu “Visualize Document”.

toolbar button or the contextual menu item (“View XML source” item).
