Once a manual is in the Flight Ops Doc Manager repository, users can customize it by modifying
its structure, content or the metadata of each one of its elements.
Flight Ops Doc Manager manages several releases of a manual, making distinctions between an
Airbus release and an Airline release.
Finally, documents can be published in various formats.
The intent of this user's guide is to depict all the possible interactions between the different
management parts, various usages and aspects and functionalities.
Flight Ops Doc Manager is based on three main profiles, Manual responsible, Author, and Root.
They offer access to five main managers:
• User manager
• Manual Manager
• Manual Explorer
• Document Unit Editor
• Multimedia Library
• Fleet Manager
The functionalities which are not accessible to the connected user appear disabled.

1.2 General use of the product
The purpose of Flight Ops Doc Manager is to allow the customization and publication into several
formats of all operational manuals:

Provide a bottom of the line product that allows airlines to publish OPS manuals in order to
be visualized in the LPC Doc Browser (FOCT);
Provide a bottom of the line product that allows airlines to customize their OPS manuals in
term of content and structure;
Provide a bottom of the line product that needs the less exploitation workload as possible.
Targeted manuals customized by the Flight Ops Doc Manager are:
The Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM)
The Cabin Crew Operating Manual (CCOM)
The Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) in order to build the Airline MEL
The Flight Crew Training Manual (FCTM)
The Configuration Deviation List (CDL)
The Airplane Flight Manual (AFM)
Airlines own manuals (created by the airline).
1.3 First connection
When launched for the first time, the Flight Ops Doc Manager repository does not contain any
manuals.
A secure root user has been defined with the “Root” profile. This profile does not correspond to
an organizational or business role but was defined to contribute to solve technically conflict
situations.
This default user has a default password that must be rapidly changed. A user with “Manual
responsible” profile can access all Flight Ops Doc Manager functionalities.
On first use, you must login with the root user (password: root).
You will be able to change the root password, create new manual responsible, authors or roots
users through the User Manager window.
On first connection you shall create a manual responsible user.
