4.2.1.8 Insert element from other manual
The functionality “Insert element from other manual” enables users to insert an element
from another manual with same data format.
Activation condition:
The connect user must be authenticated with on of those available profile:
• Manual responsible profile
• Author profile
The Manual Explorer is displayed on an opened manual.
The Working tab is selected.
Description:
The user may activate “Insert Element from other Manual” functionality by the menu item
“Element from other Manual”.

Alternatively, the user may activate the functionality by the toolbar button of Manual
Explorer or with the contextual menu item.

“Insert element from other Manual” dialog box is displayed with the manual’s trees and
his categorization (Default, by Aircraft Set, By Manual). If the selected item is a different
data format, the “Next” button of the dialog remains disabled. It block users to copy items
from manuals that are not in the same format.

The user must choose the element he wants to copy and where. If he checks “Copy with
dependency link” radio button, for each invariant contained in the created item, a
dependency link will be set toward the corresponding invariant of the source item. This
link is visible in the Triggered By tab of the View Invariant functionality.
The permission to insert element from manual on other depend on the type of the
selected item in the dialog and on the type of the destination item of the Working
release.
The Document Unit Code is regenerated.

4.2.2 Edit functionalities
4.2.2.1 Copy element
The functionality “Copy element” enables users to copy a selected item, except root, and its
children in the Manual Explorer tree, from another release.
Activation condition:
The connected user must be authenticated with one of those available profiles:
