PORTABLE OXYGEN EQUIPMENT - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General________
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The Portable Oxygen Cylinder Adjustment
(2)
The Portable Oxygen Cylinder Test

2. Portable Oxygen Cylinder Adjustment___________________________________
A. General
(1) Do not adjust a portable oxygen cylinder in the field. Send the portable oxygen cylinder to an approved overhaul shop if it does not operate correctly.

100 Upper Half of the Fuselage
B. Procedure

(1)
Turn the knob on the ON-OFF valve a minimum of one-half turn and open the ON-OFF valve.

(2)
Install the mask hose fitting in all of the outlet assemblies.

(3)
Do a check of the flow for each outlet assembly with a flowmeter.
NOTE: All of the outlet assemblies have a code for the flow and
____ altitude value. The code is shown by two numbers separated by a dash. The first number shows the flow in liters per minute, and the second shows the altitude. If the outlet assembly does not have a code, or you can not read the code, you can find the flow and altitude value in the basic equipment part number. (See figure 501.) To get the necessary flow value at the applicable altitude, make sure the flow value for the ground level outlet assembly is in the range shown in Fig. 502.
