 b)  No more than a total of 3 PPM carbon by weight or a total of 7 PPM CH4 by volume.
 c)  The moisture content must not be more than 0.00002 grams for each liter of air at 70 degrees fahrenheit and 760 MM of mercury (equivalent to a dew point of -63.6 degrees fahrenheit at 760 MM of mercury).
 (b)  A portable test cylinder that is filled with oxygen at 1800 |100 psi. 1) Oxygen specification MIL-0-27210 of type 1 is recommended. 2) Refer to S.A.E. (ASA 1065) for the permitted moisture
 content of the oxygen.
 (3)  
A pressure gage with the properties that follow:

 (a)  
The gage must have 0 - 2000 psi with a precision of |2% and graduations not more than 100 psi apart.

 (b)  
The gages dial diameter must not be less than 4 inches.

 

 (4)

Prepare to do a Test
 S 875-003
 (1)  Bleed the system pressure.
 (a)  
Close the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen cylinder.

 (b)  
Make sure the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen system in the control cabin is open.

 (c)  
On the captain's mask stowage box, push the sliding control in the direction of the arrow and hold.

 (d)  
On the captain's mask/regulator, do the steps that follow: 1) Move the dilution control to 100%. 2) Push the emergency control knob and hold. 3) Monitor the flow blinker and then make sure it changes from


 a yellow color and then to a black color. 4) Release the sliding control and the emergency control knob.

 CAUTION: SEAL THE MASK/REGULATOR INLET WITH A CAP TO PREVENT

Disconnect the first observer's mask/regulator.

Connect a 0 - 150 psi gage to the first observer's mask/regulator line.

Remove the plug from the cylinder coupling.

Connect the external pressure source.

Connect the 0 - 2000 psi gage to the external pressure source.


 F. Do a Decay Leak Test

 WARNING: YOU MUST OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE SLOWLY, OR HIGH
_______ TEMPERATURES CAN OCCUR. THIS CAN START AN IGNITION WITH THE OXYGEN AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE AND EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  
Carefully and slowly open the shutoff valve of the external pressure source, and pressurize the system to 1800 |100 psi.

 (2)  
After the system pressure becomes stable, close the shutoff valve of the external pressure source.

 (3)  
Close the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen system.

 (4)  
Monitor the test pressure gages for a fifteen minute time.

 (a) There must not be a pressure drop at the two gages.
