C. The removal/installation procedures are for a single mask/regulator/stowage box. The procedures can be used at all crew stations with mask stowage boxes.
D. A mask storage box is installed at the Captain's and the First Officer's station. You can get access to the stowage box through the flight compartment.
E. Each storage box contains a microphone with the electrical connector identified with a label as follows:

D6051 electrical connector on the first officer's storage box.

2. Storage Box Removal

A. General
(1) Read and obey the safety precautions of the oxygen system and the general maintenance instructions before you do the maintenance (AMM 35-00-00/201).

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) On the main power distribution panel, P6:

(2) S 844-003Release the oxygen from the crew oxygen system (depressurize).
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT TIGHTEN THE VALVE MORE THAN THE GIVEN TORQUE. DAMAGE TO THE VALVE CAN OCCUR.
(a) Close the shutoff valve on the crew oxygen cylinder by hand.
NOTE:____ When you tighten the valve by hand this is equivalent to a maximum torque of 25 pound-inches.
(b) (c) Set one of the oxygen mask/regulators of the crew system to 100 percent emergency oxygen.Move the test lever of the sliding control on the mask storage box to bleed the oxygen lines.
(3) S 024-004To remove the storage box, do the steps that follow: (a) Loosen the four fasteners that attach the storage box to the structure. (b) Remove the storage box.
WARNING:_______ YOU MUST LOOSEN THE FITTINGS AND CONNECTIONS SLOWLY. THE REMAINING PRESSURE IN THE LINES CAN COME OUT AT HIGH TEMPERATURES AND CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR AN EXPLOSION. INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(c) Loosen the fitting connections slowly, use a back-up wrench to make sure the fitting does not turn.
(4) S 034-005Disconnect the microphone connector from the storage box.
(5) S 434-006You must use clean metal caps when the cap threads engage the connector threads easily.
(6) S 434-007You must use new plastic caps when metal cap threads do not engage the connector threads.
