CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE THE COUPLING BODY AS A LEVER. USE A WRENCH ON THE COUPLING HEX NUT, OR DAMAGE TO COUPLING CAN OCCUR.
(b)
Torque the plug to 220 pound-inches again.
(c)
Slowly and carefully open the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen cylinder.
(d)
Do a simplified leak test of the plug connection at the cylinder coupling.
(e)
Do a simplified leakage test at the first observer's mask/regulator connection.

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
(a) P18 Oxygen System Panel
1) OXYGEN SYSTEM IND

WARNING: YOU MUST OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE SLOWLY, OR HIGH
_______ TEMPERATURES CAN OCCUR. THIS CAN START AN IGNITION WITH THE OXYGEN AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(3)
Make sure the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen cylinder is open.

Make sure the shutoff valve of the crew oxygen system (found in the crew compartment) is open.

Make sure that the pressure indicator of the crew oxygen system on the aft overhead panel shows a cylinder pressure of 150 - 1900 psi.

(6) Do the task: "Mask/Regulator in the Stored Condition Test
(In-Situ)".
E. Do a Test of the Mask/Regulator in the Non-Stowed Condition
NOTE: Do a test at the captains station, and then do the test again

at the first officer's station.

(1) Do the operational test of the mask/regulator of the crew oxygen system.
(a)
Remove the mask/regulator from the mask stowage box.
(b)
Push the harness inflation ears on the regulator and hold.
(c)
Make sure the flow blinker changes to a yellow color while the mask harness inflates (two seconds maximum) and then changes to a black color.
(d)
Lift the mask/regulator.
(e)
Put the mask/regulator on your head.
(f)
Release the inflation ears.
(g)
Make sure that the harness deflates and agrees with your head shape.
(h)
Close the doors on the mask stowage box.
(i)
Make sure that you can see the white flag marker OXY-ON in the mask stowage box.
(j)
Make sure that the oxygen dilution control is at N.
(k)
Breathe through the mask/regulator unit.
(l)
Monitor the flow blinker and make sure it changes to a yellow color while you breathe in.
(m)
Make sure that you can breathe easily.
(n)
Move the oxygen dilution control to 100%.
(o)
Breathe through the mask/regulator.
(p)
Monitor the flow blinker and make sure it is a yellow color (flow condition) while you breathe in.
(q)
Make sure you can breathe easily.
(r)
Turn the PRESS TO TEST knob to EMERGENCY.
(s)
Make sure you can breathe easily through the mask.
(t)
Turn the PRESS TO TEST knob to a position other than the EMERGENCY position.
