D. Procedure - Prepare to Remove the Demand Regulator

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) On the main power distribution panel, P6:
1) C018 or C020, INPH AND WARN, or SERVICE INPH, or OBS INPH
2) B021, CAPT AND AUDIO, or
CAPT AUDIO, or
CAPT AND OBS-INPH
3) B020, F/0 AUDIO, or
F/O AND E/R INPH, or
F/O INPH
4) C019, or C021 OBS AUDIO, or
FLT INPH AMPL or
INPH AMPL or
TRAINING INPH

(2) Release the pressure from the crew oxygen system (depressurize).
CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE VALVE MORE THAN THE GIVEN TORQUE.

DAMAGE TO THE VALVE CAN OCCUR.
(a) Close the shutoff valve on the crew oxygen cylinder.
NOTE: When you tighten the valve by hand, this
____ is equivalent to a maximum torque of 25 pound-inches.
(b)
Set one of the mask regulators of the crew oxygen system to 100 percent emergency oxygen.
(c)
Move the test lever on the sliding control on mask storage box and bleed the oxygen from the lines.
E. Procedure - Demand Regulator Removal

(1)
Remove the mask from the storage box.
(a)
Loosen the lock screw found in the mask where the mask connects to the regulator.
(b)
Push the mask lock to the rear.
(2)
Remove the demand regulator.

(1) Install the demand regulator.
(a)
Put the regulator in its position on the mask.
(b)
Move the mask lock forward to attach the regulator to the mask.
(c)
Tighten the lock screw.

(2) Pressurize the crew oxygen system.
(a) Put the mask regulator of the crew oxygen system to N (normal).
WARNING: YOU MUST OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY OR
_______ HIGH TEMPERATURES CAN OCCUR. THIS CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR AN EXPLOSION AND INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
