 (2)  Do the oxygen system maintenance.
 (a)
Loosen the fitting connections slowly with a back-up wrench to prevent damage to the fitting.

 (b)
Soon after you disconnect the oxygen plumbing, install clean, protective closures to open lines, fittings, or ports to prevent contamination of the system.

NOTE: Use clean, new plastic caps on the B-nuts and
____ other fittings if they do not engage the thread. To keep the plastic shreds out, use metal caps where the connector threads engage the cap.
 1) Do not use plastic protective plugs and caps again. 2) You can use the protective metal caps again if you clean
them correctly (Ref 35-00-00/701). 3) Do not use plugs which can be jammed into the tubes. 4) Seal the protective caps and plugs in polyethylene bags and
do not be open until ready for use. 5) After you open the bags, seal them immmediately to prevent contamination of the caps and plugs you do not use.
 (c)
Install only clean components, tubing, and fittings.
 1) To clean the components, refer to 35-00-00/701.

 (d)
To install the components, do these steps: 1) Put the tube assembly and the component in their position. 2) Loosely install the clamps on the tubing and the fasteners

 on the components.
 3)  For fittings that B-nuts engage, install the fitting connections with a back-up wrench to prevent damage to the fitting.
 4)  Tighten the B-nuts to the values shown in the maintenance procedure or to the standard torque values (Ref 20-50-11/201).
 (e)  After you connect the tube fittings, do the leak detection procedure. 1) If there are leaks in the connections, make sure you used
the correct torque values to tighten the fittings.
 2)  If the leaks continue at the correct torque value, disassemble and examine the connection. a) Replace all bad parts.
