Slowly open the shutoff valve of the crew cylinder.

Make sure that the pressure indicator on aft overhead panel shows pressure.

Use the leak detection compound to do a check for leaks on the connection between the pressure transducer and the cylinder coupling.

If there is leakage:
(a) Bleed the pressure of the crew oxygen system per par. 2.E.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE TRANSDUCER BODY OR THE COUPLING BODY AS A
_______ LEVER. USE A WRENCH ON THE TRANSDUCER SQUARE BOSS AND ON THE COUPLING HEX NUT, OR DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS MAY OCCUR.
(b)
Tighten the transducer connection to a torque of 220
pound-inches.
(c)
Do a check for leakage at the connection per steps 3.E.(8) and 3.E.(9).

SYSTEM SHUTOFF VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General________
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
Removal of the system shutoff valve
(2)
Installation of the system shutoff valve.
B. Access to the shutoff valve is available in the flight compartment.

(1) Read the safety precautions and the general maintenance instructions of the oxygen system (Ref 35-00-00/201).

CAUTION:_______DO NOT TIGHTEN THE VALVE MORE THAN THE GIVEN TORQUE. DAMAGE TO THE VALVE CAN OCCUR.
(1)
In the forward cargo compartment, close the shutoff valve on the crew oxygen cylinder with your hand (equivalent to a torque of 25 pound-inches).

In the control cabin, loosen the set screw on the knob of the oxygen system shutoff valve.
(3)
Remove the shutoff valve knob.

Remove the insulation if it is necessary to get access to the shutoff valve area.

To remove the trim panel, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Remove the equipment if it is necessary.
(b)
Remove the attachment screws of the trim panel.
(c)
Remove the trim panel.
