Move the oxygen dilution control to N.
(v)
Push the harness inflation ears on the regulator and remove the mask/regulator from your head.
(w)
Release the inflation ears.
(x)
Do a test of the mask microphone (AMM 23-51-00/501).

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE MASK/REGULATOR UNIT INTO THE STORAGE BOX
_______ CORRECTLY. IF YOU TWIST THE HARNESS OR THE COILED HOSE, SAFETY PROBLEMS CAN OCCUR DURING THE OPERATION OF THE CREW OXYGEN SYSTEM. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND CAN DAMAGE THE EQUIPMENT.
(2) Put the mask/regulator in the mask box.
NOTE: Only approved persons can do this procedure.

(a)
Hold the mask by the regulator and let the harness hang free.
(b)
Make sure the harness is not twisted.
(c)
Make sure the hose is engaged in the clips at the bottom of the container.
(d)
Put the hose into coils at the bottom of the box and make sure the hose has smooth bends.
(e)
Let the coils become larger in the stowage box and push them down carefully with your free hand.
(f)
Use your free hand to hold the harness spacers and push them down on the coiled hose.
(g)
Hold the mask at a forward angle and push it down into the box.
(h)
Make sure the tab on the front of the mask stops against the horizontal plastic contour, which is on the inner side of the box.
(i)
Make sure the front harness spacers are on the top of the facepiece.
(j)
Make sure the harness has clearance with the ON-OFF valve on the blinker if the doors are closed.

(k)
Put the supply hose at the center on the bottom of the box.
(l)
Push the supply hose until the disconnections do not touch the face seal.
(m)
Make sure that the dilution control is on 100%.
(n)
Make sure the safety pressure button is on NORMAL.
(o)
Close the left door of the stowage box.
(p)
Operate the RESET control and make sure the flag goes out of your view.
(q)
Engage the pin (of the left door) in the applicable recess in the mask/regulator and close the right door.
(r)
Do a check of the crew oxygen mask installed in the mask box (AMM 35-12-00/501).
F. Do a Test of the Mask/Regulator at the First Observer's Station

(1) Do the test at the first observer's station.
(a)
Remove the mask/regulator from the mask cup.
(b)
Push the harness inflation ears on the regulator and hold.
(c)
Monitor the mask harness and make sure it inflates in less than two seconds.
(d)
Put the mask/regulator on your head and release the harness inflation ears.
(e)
Deflate the harness to make sure it agrees to your head shape.
(f)
Make sure the oxygen dilution control is at N and do the steps that follow: 1) Breathe through the mask. 2) Make sure you can breathe through the mask easily.
(g)
Move the oxygen dilution control to 100% and do the steps that follow: 1) Breathe through the mask. 2) Make sure you can breathe through the mask easily.
(h)
Turn the PRESS TO TEST knob to EMERGENCY.
(i)
Make sure you can breathe through the mask easily.
(j)
Turn the PRESS TO TEST knob to a position other than the EMERGENCY position.
(k)
Move the dilution control to N.
(l)
Push the harness inflation ears on the regulator and remove the mask/regulator from your head.
(m)
Release the inflation ears.
(n)
Do a test of the microphone (AMM 23-51-00/501).
