B. Get Access
(1)
Make sure that the access platform is in position at the FWD cargo-compartment door 825.
(2)
Make sure that the FWD cargo-compartment door 825 is open (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3)
Make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU is at ON.
(4)
In the FWD cargo compartment, make sure that the applicable floor panel is removed (Ref. TASK 53-22-14-000-001).

C. Preparation for Installation

THIS MATERIAL IS DANGEROUS.
(1)
With a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC, remove the old sealant from the contact surfaces of the retainer and of the structure.
(2)
Clean the contact surfaces of the retaining valve and the structure with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a lint-free cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).
(3)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

A. Installation of the Drain Valves

(1)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) on the contact surfaces of the retainer (2) and of the structure.
(2)
Put the retainer (2) in position.
(3)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-013) on the shank of the screws (3).
(4)
Install the screws (3) and the nuts (1).
(5)
Tighten the two nuts (1).
(6)
Remove the unwanted sealant with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a lint-free cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), if necessary.
(7)
Apply a bead of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) at the edge of the structure and of the retainer (2).
(8)
Make sure that the bead of sealant is continuous.
(9)
Apply a second bead of STRUCTURE PAINTS (Material No. 16-021A) on first sealant at the edge
(10)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-019) on the contact surface of the valve (4) and the strucure

Install the drain valve (5).

B. Close Access
(1)
Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch to OFF.
(2)
Close the FWD cargo-compartemnt door 825 (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(3)
Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 53-29-41-862-050
C. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
