Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Put the fairings (3) in position.
(3)
Temporarily attach the fairings (3) with four screws (1) and washers
(2) at the locating holes (4).
(4)
TORQUE the four screws to between 0.20 and 0.25 m.daN (17.69 and
22.12 lbf.in).
(5)
Install the remaining screws (1) and washers (2) in position.
(6)
Do a visual check to make sure that the seals touch the fuselage and/or the edges of the wings.

(7) TORQUE all the screws (1) to between 0.35 and 0.45 m.daN (30.97 and
39.82 lbf.in).

Put the access platform in zone 833 or 843.
(2)
Open the applicable emergency exit 833 or 843 (Ref. TASK 52-22-00-010-002).

A. Removal of the Scuff Plates
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 53-25-41-991-001)
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DAMAGE THE FUSELAGE WHEN YOU REMOVE

THE SCUFF PLATES.
(1)
Remove the screws (1) and (2), and the washers (6).
(2)
Remove the sealant between the scuff plates (3), (5) and (9) with a non metallic scraper.
(3)
Remove the screws (8), the nuts (4), and the washers (7) from the scuff plates (3), (5) and (9).
(4)
Blow air on the scuff plates (3), (5) and (9) with a hot air blower. NOTE : Do not let the temperature of the scuff plates increase by
____ more than 100 +50 -0 deg.C (212.00 +90.00 -0.00 deg.F).
(5)
Carefully put a non metallic wedge between the fuselage and the scuff plates (3), (5) and (9).
(6)
Remove the scuff plates (3), (5) and (9). NOTE : If the scuff plates (3), (5) and (9) are damaged, discard
