SUPPORT STRUTS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
__________________________________________
1. General
_______
Support struts are installed to give structural strength and rigidity between the aircraft structures, or support between structure and component assemblies.
2. Description___________
A. Support Struts The support struts are made of aluminum alloy. They are set or adjustable in length and usually tubular in shape. They are made in different tube dimensions and wall thickness to meet special requirements. A fork-end or eye-end fitting is attached to each end of the tube. The ends provide the installation points to connect the strut between the structures, or the structure and the component.
B. Floor Support Struts The floor support struts are made of aluminum alloy. They are formed from extruded section and usually of a set length. The floor support struts are riveted in position.

FAIRINGS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
____________________________________
1. General_______
R The belly fairing is a permanent extension to the lower fuselage and is
R installed at STA1307 (between FR30 and FR31) thru STA2456/FR53. The
R structure extends around the air conditioning and the hydraulic services
R equipment for the aircraft. It gives easy access for maintenance procedures
R to the equipment. The belly fairing spans the width of the lower fuselage,
R between the left and right wings. The extension of the structure around both
R wing roots completes the wing-to-fuselage fillet zone.
R
R The main landing gear bay is installed between FR42 and FR46. When the
R landing gear doors are up and locked (landing gear up or fully extended),
R the doors complete the belly fairing profile.

3. Description___________
R The belly fairing structure is made of frames, support struts and skin
R panels. Rivets attach the frames to the aircraft lower fuselage. Most of the
R frames become an extension to the aircraft fuselage frames. They are
R installed between FR31 thru FR42 and FR46 thru FR52.
R
R A keel beam gives longitudinal structural strength at the lower center of
R the belly fairing. Rivets attach the beam to the bottom of the aircraft keel
R beam and to FR47. The belly-fairing keel-beam is installed between FR36 thru
R FR47.
R
R The belly fairing panels are made of honeycomb core, which is bonded between
R Glassfiber-Reinforced Plastic (GRP) sheets. You can remove all the panels
R from the structure. Some of them have quick-release fittings for easy
R opening or removal to give fast access to the equipment.
R
R A blow-out panel is included in the air conditioning services panel,192KB.
R If an overpressure condition occurs in the air conditioning bay, the
R blow-out panel will open. The panel is pushed open against spring tension
R and remains open until it can be closed by hand during ground maintenance.
