 All the data concerning the passenger/crew doors, the emergency exits, the avionics and cargo compartment doors and the escape slide arming are sent to the ECAM system through proximity switches. The data concerning the cargo compartment doors are processed by the LGCIU 1 and then sent to the FWC through the ARINC 429 bus bar. For the passenger/crew doors, emergency exits and avionics compartment doors, the discrete data are sent to the SDACs. When a passenger/crew door, an emergency exit or an avionics compartment door is opened, the target is separated from the proximity switch ; this results in blocking the output transistor of the proximity switch which sends a logic 1 to the SDAC. The passenger/crew doors are indicated closed if the locking hook is in the correct position and the locking shaft correctly overcentered (the two data are in series). The cargo compartment doors are indicated closed if the locking hook and the handle are in the correct position (logic AND of the two data performed by the FWC). A single detection system is used for the avionics compartment doors and emergency exits (locking hook for the avionics compartment doors and flap for emergency exits). The position of the escape slides is indicated as follows :
 -passenger/crew doors: output transistor in the on state (target near the proximity switch corresponds to the armed state of the slide).
 -emergency exits: output transistor in the on state (target near the
 proximity switch corresponds to the disarmed state of the slide).

 **ON A/C 301-399,
 All the data concerning the passenger/crew doors, the emergency exits, the avionics and cargo compartment doors and the escape slide arming are sent to the ECAM system through proximity switches.
