(1) Adjust the upper clearance "A" of the cockpit door as follows:
(a) Measure the clearance "A" between the top of the closed cockpit door (2) and the cockpit wall panel (1).
NOTE : The clearance "A" must have a minimum of 4 mm (0.1574
____
in.).
(b) If the clearance "A" is less then the limit, adjust it as follows:
1 Remove the locknut (5) from the top hinge (9).
_ 2 Turn the adjustment nut (4) until the clearance "A" is
_
correctly adjusted.
3 Install the locknut (5) on the upper hinge (9).
_
(2) Make sure that the limit switch 310LG in the cockpit wall is correctly adjusted (Ref. TASK 33-21-12-400-001).

(a) Measure the clearance "B" between the cockpit door (2) and the inboard edge of the safety angle (13) installed on the galley wall (12).
NOTE : The clearance "B" must have a minimum of 3.7 mm (0.1456
____
in.).
(b) Measure the clearance "C" between the cockpit door (2) and the lavatory wall (15).
NOTE : The clearance "C" must be between 8 mm (0.3149 in.) and 10
____
mm (0.3937 in.).
(c) If the clearance "B" and "C" are not in the limits, adjust them as follows:
1 Remove the adjustment screws (3) from the upper hinge of the
_
cockpit door (2).
2 Apply a layer of the BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material
_ No. 08-007) on the screws (3) and install them in the upper hinge of the cockpit door (2).
3 Prepare the base around the lower hinge (7) as follows:
_ a Find the end of the nylon tape and remove it with the old
_ sealant from the base around the lower hinge (7).

5_ Apply a layer of SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) on the screws (6) and install them in the lower hinge (7).
6_ Move the cockpit door (2) until the the lateral clearances "B" and "C" are correct.
7_ TORQUE the screws (3) of the upper hinge to 1.0 m.daN (88.49 lbf.in).
8_ Tighten the screws (6) of the lower hinge (7).
9_ Prepare the base around the lower hinge (7) as follows:
a_ Put the nylon tape MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-002) around the base of the lower hinge (7) and make a loop on its end.
NOTE : This will help to make the subsequent reomval____ easier.
b_ Apply a layer of the SEALANTS (Material No. 09-036) to fill the remaining gap around the lower hinge (7).
(4) Measure the clearance "F" between the cockpit door (2) and the safety angle (13).
NOTE : The clearance "F" must be between 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.) and 2.5
____
mm (0.0984 in.).
(5) If the clearance "F" is not correct, adjust it as follows:
(a)
Remove the screws (11) from the structure fitting (8).
(b)
Put the required quantity of shims (10) between the cockpit door
(2) and the structure fitting (8) until the clearances are correct.
NOTE : The recommended shims (standard washers P/N LN65045-08)
____ have a thickness of 1.6 mm (0.0629 in.) and only a maximum of three shims (max. thickness of 4.8 mm (0.1889 in.)) is permitted.
