 (d) Measure the overlap "D" of the safety angle (13) and the cockpit door (2).
 NOTE : The overlap "D" must be more than 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).

 (e) Measure the overlap "E" of the safety angle (14) and the cockpit door (2).
 NOTE : The overlap "E" must be more than 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.).
____
 (f) Measure the clearance "F" of the closed cockpit door (2) and the safety angle (13).
 NOTE : The clearance "F" must be between 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.) and
____ 2.5 mm (0.0984 in.).
 (g) If one of the clearances A thru F is not in the limits, adjust the cockpit door (Ref. TASK 52-51-00-820-001).
 (2) Measure the clearances around the electrical release strikes as follows: (Ref. Fig. 501A/TASK 52-51-00-991-013-A, 502A/TASK 52-51-00-991-014-A)
 (a) Measure the clearance "G" of the closed cockpit door (2) and the safety angle (13).
 NOTE : The clearance "G" must be between 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.) and
____ 1.5 mm (0.0590 in.).
 (b)
 Make sure that the top of the cockpit door (2) always touches she safety angle (13).

 (c)
 Make sure that the latch tenon (22) touches the catch (23) of the center electrical-release-strike (21).

 (d)
 Adjust the position of center electrical-release-strike (21) (Ref. TASK 52-51-00-820-001) if:

 -
The clearance "G" is not in the limits

 -
The latch tenon (22) does not engage correctly with the catch (23).

 

 (e)
 Measure the clearance "H" between the latch tenon (22) and the catch (23) of the upper and lower electrical-release-strikes (21).


 NOTE : The clearance "H" must be between 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.) and
____ 1.5 mm (0.0590 in.).
 (f) If the clearance "H" is not in the limits, adjust the upper and/or lower electrical-release-strikes (Ref. TASK 52-51-00-820-001).
 (3) Measurement of the Clearances around the Latch Mechanism (Ref. Fig. 503/TASK 52-51-00-991-015)
 (a) Measure the clearance "P" between the latch tenon (23) and the slot of the access cover (17).
 NOTE : The clearance "P" must be between 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.) and
____ 5.0 mm (0.1968 in.).
 (b) Do a visual check of the three latch tenons (22) to make sure that the dimension "Q" is between 7.0 mm (0.2755 in.) and 9.0 mm (0.3543 in.).
 NOTE : The rear face of each latch tenon has three arrows marks.
____ If you can see only the last (inboard) arrow mark with the cockpit door closed, then the dimension "Q" is correct.
 (c) If necessary, adjust the three latch mechanisms (Ref. TASK 52-51-00-820-001).

 5. Close-up
