(4)  Disconnect the electrical cables from the EGT probe.  Refer to Figure 5. At the in-line connector. 
(5)  Replace the EGT probe: S Release the worm drive clamp which holds the EGT probe in position. S Replace the EGT probe. S Install the worm drive clamp which holds the EGT probe. 
(6)  Connect the electrical cables to the EGT probe.  At the in-line connector. 
(7)  Connect the airplane battery.  Refer to Section 24-31. 
(8)  Install the engine cowlings.  Refer to Section 71-12. 
(9)  Do a test of the EGT indicating system: S Monitor the EGT indicator. S Set the ALT/BAT Switch to ON. Do an engine ground run-up.  The indicator must show zero. The indicator must show the ambient temperature of the cylinder head. Refer to the DA 40 F Airplane Flight Manual. The EGT indicator must show the relevant temperature.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS SAFE BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK ON IT. IF THE ENGINE STARTS THE PROPELLER CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. 
(1)  Make sure that the engine is safe: S The ignition switch is set to OFF. S Set the ALT/BAT switch to OFF. S The throttle is set to IDLE. S The mixture control is set to LEAN CUT-OFF. 
(2)  Remove the engine top-cowling.  Refer to Section 71-12. 
(3)  Disconnect the airplane battery.  Refer to Section 24-31. 
(4)  Disconnect the cables from the transducer: S Pull back the protective boots from the cable eye-ends. S Remove the 2 nuts and washers which attach the eye-ends to the connectors. S Remove the eye-ends from the connectors.  Refer to Figure 6. 
WARNING: DO NOT GET OIL ON YOU. OIL CAN CAUSE SKIN DISEASE. 
(5)  Replace the transducer: S Remove the defective transducer from the mount and discard the O-ring seal. S Install a new O-ring seal on the new transducer. S Install the new transducer.  Use a suitable container to collect the spilt oil. Put caps on all open connections.

(6)  Connect the electrical cables to the transducer: S Install the electrical cable eye-ends onto the transducer connectors. S Install the 2 washers and nuts which attach the eye-ends. S Move the rubber protective boots back into position over the eye-ends.  Refer to Chapter 92 for the Wiring Diagrams. 
(7)  Connect the airplane battery.  Refer to Section 24-31. 
(8)  Install the engine cowlings.  Refer to Section 71-12. 
(9)  Do a test of the engine oil pressure indicating system: S Monitor the oil pressure indicator. S Set the ALT/BAT switch to ON. S Do an engine ground run-up. S Shut the engine down.  The indicator must show zero. Refer to the DA 40 F Airplane Flight Manual. The oil pressure indicator must show the relevant pressure of the oil. 
(10)  Look for oil leaks from the transducer: S Remove the engine top-cowling. S Look for oil leaks from the transducer. S Install the engine top-cowling.

(3)  Disconnect the airplane battery.  Refer to Section 24-31. 
(4)  Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pressure transducer: S Remove the screw which attaches the connector to the transducer. S Pull the connector off from the transducer.  Refer to Figure 7.
