(49) Remove the engine-mounting-bolts: S Remove the nuts from the lower engine mounting bolts. S Pull the mounting bolts rearwards and clear of the engine mount and remove the rear shock mount rubber. S Remove the nuts from the upper engine mounting bolts. S Pull the mounting bolts rearwards and clear of the engine mount and remove the rear shock mount rubber. S Move the engine clear of the airplane. S Lower the engine into the engine stand. Remove the front shock mount rubber. Make sure that when you move the engine clear of the airplane that you do not catch the engine on any of the equipment around the engine mount.
(50) If necessary: S Remove the oil pipe from the accessory housing. S Remove the fuel pipe from the inlet to the engine driven fuel pump. Note the orientation. Put caps on the open connections. Note the orientation.

3. Install the Engine (without the Engine Mount)
Note: If you install a new engine, you must do the engine break-in procedure after installation. Refer to Paragraph 11.

B. Preparation

(1) If you have not already done so: S Raise the airplane on jacks and make the airplane level. S Move the nose trestle into position. Refer to Section 07-10. Refer to Section 07-10.
(2) Examine the engine control cables. Move each cable through its range of movement several times.
(3) Make sure all the electrical cables are clean and not damaged.
(4) Make sure all the oil hoses are not damaged.
(5) Make sure all the fuel pipes/hoses are not damaged.
(6) Make sure that all drains and vents are not damaged or blocked.
(7) Make sure that all the flexible hoses are clean and not damaged.

(8) If you install a new engine: S Install the fuel supply hose to the inlet to the fuel pump. S Install the two oil hoses at the rear of the engine which connect to the oil filter housing. Set the pipe to the orientation recorded at Paragraph 2.B.(50). Set the pipe to the orientation recorded at Paragraph 2.B.(50).
C. Install the Engine

(1) Move the engine into position with the hoist. Make sure that the engine does not catch on any cables or equipment. Move the fuel and oil hoses through the engine mount.
Note: Top mountings have the cone-shaped shock-mount FORWARD, the cylindrical-shaped shock-mount AFT. Bottom mountings have the cylindrical-shaped shock-mount FORWARD, the cone-shaped shock-mount AFT.

(2) Assemble the 4 shock mounts: S Move the front shock mount rubber into position between the engine mount and the rear face of the engine mounting. S Move the rear shock mount rubber into position in the engine mount. S Install the washer under the head of the engine mounting bolt. S Push the engine mounting bolt through the shock mount assembly from aft. S Install the nuts and washers onto the engine mounting-bolts. Do this item for each mount. Do the top mounts first and then the bottom mounts. Refer to Figure 5. Make sure that the rubbers are correctly seated. Make sure that the rubbers are correctly seated. Do not tighten the nuts.
