WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS SAFE BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK ON THE STARTER SYSTEM. IF THE ENGINE STARTS THE PROPELLER CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. 
(1)  Make sure that the engine is safe: S Set the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch to OFF. S Set the ENGINE MASTER switch to OFF. S Set the power lever to IDLE. 
(2)  Put the ENGINE MASTER switch in position in the instrument panel. 
(3)  Connect the cables to the ENGINE MASTER switch.  Refer to the wiring diagrams and the notes you made during removal. 
(4)  Move the ENGINE MASTER switch into position in the instrument panel. 
(5)  Install the retaining nut to the cockpit side of the ENGINE MASTER switch. 
(6)  Install the instrument panel cover.  Refer to Section 25-10. 
(7)  Connect the airplane main battery.  Refer to Section 24-34. 
(8)  Install the engine top cowling.  Refer to Section 71-11. 
(9)  Do an engine ground run-up.  Refer to Section 71-01.

(1)  Make sure that the engine is safe: S Set the ELECTRIC MASTER key switch to OFF. S Set the ENGINE MASTER switch to OFF. S Set the power lever to IDLE. 
(2)  Remove the engine top cowling.  Refer to Section 71-11. 
(3)  Disconnect the airplane main battery.  Refer to Section 24-34. 
(4)  Remove the cover from the relay junction box. 
(5)  Disconnect the cables from the starter relay.  Make a note of the position of the cables. 
(6)  Remove the screw, washer and nut that attach the relay. 
(7)  Remove the starter relay from the airplane.

(5)  Install the cover to the relay junction box. 
(6)  Connect the airplane main battery.  Refer to Section 24-34. 
(7)  Install the engine top cowling.  Refer to Section 71-11. 
(8)  Do an engine ground run-up.  Refer to Section 71-01.
