(35) Disconnect the fuel feed hose at the firewall. Use a suitable container to catch the fuel. Put caps on the hose and the firewall connection.
(36) Disconnect the fuel feed hose at the outlet from the fuel pump. Move the hose clear of the engine mount.(35)
(37) Disconnect the fuel drain hose from the engine-driven fuel-pump and move the hose clear of the engine.
(38) Remove the cable ties that attach the fuel flow divider drain to the engine mount and the ignition harness. Note the location of the ties!

(39) Disconnect the engine breather hose from the accessory housing at the top of the engine. Put caps on the breather hose and the engine connection.
WARNING: DO NOT GET OIL ON YOU. OIL CAN CAUSE SKIN DISEASE.
(40) Disconnect the oil pipe at the top of the accessory-housing. Use a suitable container to catch the oil. Put caps on the oil pipe and the accessory-housing connection.
(41) Disconnect the two oil hoses which connect to the top of the Oil Filter housing. Use a suitable container to catch the oil. Put caps on the oil pipes and the oil filter housing.
(42) Disconnect the oil pipe for the oil pressure sensor at the engine crank-case. Remove spilt oil.
(43) Remove the cylinder-head temperature-probe from the bottom of the cylinder head: S Disconnect the electrical cables at the in-line connectors. S Remove the probe from its holder. S Remove the cable-ties/P-clamps which hold the cables for the cylinder-head temperature probe in position. Do this item for each cylinder-head temperature-probe. Note the location of the cable-ties/P-clamps.
(44) Disconnect the electrical cables from these components: S The generator (5 cables). S The starter motor (1 cable). S Fuel pressure sensors (2 cables). S Oil temperature sensor. S Fuel flow sensor. S RPM sensor. Remove the P-clamps and cable-ties from the right-hand side of the engine. Move the cables clear of At the in-line connector. Note the locations of the P-clamps and the cable-ties!

(45) Disconnect the manifold pressure pipe from the No. 4 cylinder inlet manifold. Release the P-clamp from the rear of the No. 4 cylinder head.
(46) Disconnect the earth cable from the engine: S Remove the bolt and washer which attaches the cable eye-end to the engine.
WARNING: DO NOT GO UNDER THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS HELD BY THE ENGINE HOIST. IF THE HOIST FAILS, THE ENGINE CAN FALL AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(47) Attach the engine hoist to the engine. At the top of the engine. At the lifting shackles.
Note: The hoist must hold the weight of the engine. The weight of the engine is 150 kg (330 lb). If the propeller and spinner are fitted the total weight is 172 kg (378 lb).
(48) Adjust the hoist to “take the weight” of the engine.
