PROPELLER
Paragraph 1 is amended to read:
1. General
This Chapter tells you about the propeller installed on the DA 40. Section 61-10 tells you about the % propeller assembly for airplanes with the Lycoming IO-360-M1A engine installed.
) Section 61-11 tells you about the propeller assembly installed for airplanes with the TAE 125 Diesel engine installed.
%) Section 61-12 tells you about the propeller assembly installed for airplanes with the Lycoming % O-360-A4M engine installed.
) Section 61-20 tells you about the propeller governor for airplanes with the Lycoming engine installed.
) Section 61-21 tells you about the propeller governor for airplanes with the TAE 125 Diesel engine installed.
For more data on the propeller refer to the propeller manufacturers' manuals.
Note: Equipment which is certified for installation in the DA 40 is listed in Section 6.5 of the Airplane Flight Manual. Such equipment may be installed in accordance with the Airplane Maintenance Manual.
Any equipment which is not listed in Section 6.5 of the Airplane Flight Manual is called "Additional Equipment". The installation of Additional Equipment is a modification which must be handled in accordance with national regulations or a Service Bulletin.

Propeller Assembly - Lycoming O-360-A4M Engine
1. General
The DA 40 F with the Lycoming O-360-A4M engine installed has an Sensenich 76EM8S10-0-63 fixed pitch propeller. This propeller has 2 blades. The blades are made from aluminium. The blades have an acryl lacquer painted finish.
This Section tells you how to remove and install the propeller and how to do a test for blade tracking.
Refer to the propeller manufacturer’s manuals for more data on the propeller.
2. Description
Figure 1 shows you the propeller. The spacer, the rear bulkhead (spinner backplate), the propeller hub and the front bulkhead are attached to the engine flywheel with six special attaching bolts. The bolts are locked with wire. A spinner which is made from composite material attaches to the aft bulkhead with screws. The spinner is supported by the front support (bulkhead) plate. Screws attach the spinner to the front support plate.
3. Operation
The Sensenich 76EM8S10-0-63 is a fixed pitch propeller with 2700 RPM maximum permissible speed. Refer to the manufacturer manual for more details.
