DA 40 F

Paragraph B is amended to read:
B. Engine Control Assembly
The engine control assembly in the center console has these controls: ) Throttle. %) Propeller (not for the DA 40 F variant). %) Carburetor Heat (DA 40 F variant only). ) Mixture. ) Parking brake. ) Cabin Heat control lever. ) Distribution control lever for Cabin Air. % The 3 power-plant control levers are on one pivot shaft at the rear of the assembly. A knob on the right side of the assembly adjusts throttle (mixture and propeller) friction. The parking brake and
cabin heat control levers are also on one shaft at the top front of the assembly. Friction discs,
stators and spring washers hold both groups of levers in position on the shafts.
The assembly has 2 aluminum-alloy side-plates. Four sheet-metal brackets hold the outer sheaths

of the control cables. A metal bracket at the front top attaches to the bottom of the instrument panel. A metal bracket at the back attaches to the elevator trim mounting. Rivets attach all of the metal brackets to the side plates.
Bolts hold 5 tubular spacers between the side plates. The spacers make fixed stops for the control
levers. Two of the spacers also hold one end of the friction stators for each group of levers. Two bolts attach the engine control assembly to the bottom of the instrument panel. Bolts attach the assembly to the side walls of the floor panel.

AIRCRAFT DA 40 F
Add the following paragraph:
C. Carbon Monoxide Detector (DA 40 F variant only):
The DA 40 F variant with fixed pitch propeller and the Lycoming O-360-A4M engine has an additional Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector installed.
The CO Detector consists of the CO-sensor, a test/ reset button and an amber alert annunciator light next to the test button. The CO-Detector is connected to the aircraft's electrical system via a circuit breaker. In case of a carbon monoxide alert, the pilot will receive an amber alert annunciator light. This visual alert will remain until the carbon monoxide level has dropped below the alert level. The indicator is automatically reset when the CO level drops below 50 ppm.
When power is applied to the CO Detector, a self test routine begins. The amber alert annunciator light flashes twice and remains OFF until a CO alert or a failure of the unit occurs.
When starting up the CO Detector, there is a delay of approximately three minutes until the indication is accurate.
