1 INSTALL THE WASHERS (AN960KD616L, AN960-616L, AN960-616) TO SET A 0.01-0.02 INCH CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE SURFACE OF THE CASTING AND THE WASHERS.
2 INSTALL THE BOLTHEAD SO IT POINTS FORWARD ON THE FORWARD TENSION LATCH, WHICH IS BY THE EXHAUST DOOR WITH THE LOUVERS. THE BOLTHEAD MUST POINT AFT ON THE TWO AFT TENSION LATCHES.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE TO THE STRUCTURE AROUND THE LATCH. IF YOU APPLY PRESSURE TO THE STRUCTURE, DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE CAN OCCUR.

Put the tension latch in the correct position on the structure of the thrust reverser.

Put the countersunk washer below the bolthead and install the bolt.
NOTE: The bolt head must point forward on the forward tension
____ latch, which is near the louvered exhaust door. The bolt head must point aft on the aft tension latches.

(3) Install one to four washers on the bolt to decrease the travel of the bolt in the structure.
NOTE: The tension latches are installed on the thrust reverser
____ structure, which is made of castings. Because of the casting tolerances, the smooth shank of the bolt extends above the surface of the casting. Install sufficient washers (together with the small washer for the nut) on the bolt until you cannot see the shank. Permit a clearance of 0.01 - 0.02 inch
