Install the Thrust Reverser (Fig. 401, Fig. 402)

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Attach the sling assembly (A71002) for the thrust reverser to the
thrust reverser half at the forward and aft hoist points.
(a) Attach the tag lines to the thrust reverser.
(3)
Make sure the thread protectors are installed on all bolts.
(4)
Lubricate the shank of the bolts with the grease.

NOTE: Do not let the grease get on the threads.

(5) Remove the plastic or wire ties from the center and aft hinge
bearings.

CAUTION: WHEN YOU CAREFULLY LIFT THE THRUST REVERSER, DO NOT LET THE
_______ THRUST REVERSER AND STRUT TOUCH. CONTROL THE MOVEMENT OF THE THRUST REVERSER WITH THE TAG LINES. IF THE THRUST REVERSER TOUCHES THE ENGINE OR OTHER EQUIPMENT, DAMAGE TO THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OCCUR.
MAKE SURE THE TOP SKIRT FAIRING SUPPORTS DO NOT TOUCH THE STRUT. DAMAGE TO THE SUPPORTS CAN OCCUR.

Attach the hoist to the sling assembly.

Slowly lift the thrust reverser half into its position.
NOTE: When you lift the thrust reverser, it will be in the air at

an angle of approximately 45 degrees.
(a) Align the hinge fittings on the thrust reverser with the strut fittings.

(9) Install the hinge bolts for the thrust reverser with the steps that follow:
NOTE:____The hinge bolts have a tight tolerance fit. The installation of the hinge bolts is easier if you correctly install the hoist and correctly operate the hoist control. Do not use the air hammers or rivet guns to install the hinge bolts.
(a) Manually install the bolt (7) in the center hinge from the aft side.
NOTE: The thread protector will point in the forward
____ direction. Move the bolt at an angle to install it around the rib on the fitting of the fan duct hinge.

nearest to the strut from the aft side.
