Use two bolts and washers to install the forward adapter (-19) at the attach point nearest the middle locking actuator.
NOTE: Attach the adapter with the smaller hole inboard and
____ the slot outboard, in relation to the nacelle centerline. Turn the adapter the opposite direction if it hits the torque box fittings.
(d)
Use two bolts and washers to install the aft adapter (-20) to the aft attach point on the fan duct cowl.
(e)
Attach the rounded beam (-3) to the forward adapters with three quick release pins.
(f)
Attach the straight beam (-2) to the rounded beam (-3).
(g)
Attach the straight beam (-2) to the cable of the aft adapter (-20).
(h)
Attach the hoist cable to the straight beam (-2).

OF THE CASCADE VANE SEGMENTS ARE NOT THERE. THREE CASCADE VANE
SEGMENTS MUST BE INSTALLED. DAMAGE TO THE THRUST REVERSER
STRUCTURE CAN OCCUR.
(15) Open the thrust reverser (Fig. 203):
NOTE: The cascade vane segments must be equally put apart on
____ the thrust reverser structure. There cannot be more than two adjacent open spaces between the segments.
(a) Apply sufficient force to lift the sling and open the thrust reverser half until it is half open.

(16) Do these steps to install the hold-open rod:
(a)
Disconnect the bottom end of the hold-open rod from the bracket on the thrust reverser.
(b)
Extend the hold-open rod to engage the support bracket at the 23-degree (bottom) or the 45-degree (top) position on the engine fan case.
(c)
Continue to operate the hoist to lift the thrust reverser until the hold-open rod locks in the fully extended position.
NOTE: If you install the hold-open rod in the bracket at
____ the 45-degree position, it is usually necessary to manually push up on the thrust reverser to fully extend and lock the hold-open rod.
