 Examine the force to close the tension latch at the four latch locations and adjust as it is necessary (AMM 78-31-04/501).

 Close the louvered exhaust door.

 Examine the surface where the louvered exhaust door and the lower fairing touch.

 (a)  
Make sure the surface between the louvered exhaust door and the lower fairing is smooth.

 (b)  
Examine the clearance between the two surfaces. (fig. 502)

 (c)  
If the clearances are not in the limits, you must add shims to the louvered exhaust door as it is necessary.

THRUST REVERSER - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General
_______
 A.  You must do the adjustment procedure for the thrust reverser when you change the strut or the thrust reverser. When you change the engine, only the inspection procedure will be necessary to verify the adjustment is correct.
 B.  The thrust reverser shims are referred to as the shims in this procedure.
 C.  This procedure has two tasks:
 (1)  
The first task gives instructions to do a check of the thrust reverser shims.

 (2)  
The second task is a scheduled maintenance task which gives instructions to do an inspection of the thrust reverser cowl hinges and adjacent structure.
