NOTE: The T-bolt latch handle is attached to the latch band on the
____ right side of the engine. The latch band bracket is attached to the latch band on the left side of the engine.

Install the Latch Bands (Fig. 401).

(1) Make sure the T-bolt latch handle that holds the latch band on the bottom of the engine is open.

Put the anchor strap in the correct position in the saddle fitting
on the top of the engine.

Attach the latch band to the anchor strap with the latch band pins
and the washers.
NOTE:____Install each latch band pin from the aft side. Do not put the washer below the head of the latch band pin.
(a) Install the cotter pins in the latch band pins.

(4) Install the retainers on the anchor strap with the bolts and the
washers.
(a) Put the lockwire on the bolts.

Install the latch band retainers (22 locations) with the bolts and
the washers.

Adjust the T-bolt latch handle (AMM 78-31-02/501).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE T-BOLT IS CORRECTLY ENGAGED IN THE RECEIVER OF

THE VEE-GROOVE LATCH BAND BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE T-BOLT LATCH
HANDLE. FAILURE TO OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO
THE T-BOLT OR THE RECEIVER ON THE VEE-GROOVE LATCH BAND.

Close the T-bolt latch handle on the bottom of the engine to lock
the latch band.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.

Close the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Do the activation procedure for the thrust reversers
(AMM 78-31-00/201).

Do the activation procedure for the speed brake control system
(AMM 27-62-00/201).
(4)
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags from the thrust reverser levers.

A. This procedure has a check of the force you must use to close the T-bolt latch handle.
B. You can find the T-bolt latch handle on the lower bifurcation of the thrust reverser.
