(2) Apply the petroleum jelly to six points on the strut that touch the shims when you close the thrust reverser.

(3) Apply the petroleum jelly to four lower bifurcation shim points that touch the opposite thrust reverser halves.

Open the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Examine the thickness of the modeling clay on upper and lower bifurcation shims.
(a)
If the modeling clay is pushed from between the thrust reverser shims, adjust the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-01/501).
(b)
If the modeling clay is not pushed from between the thrust reverser shims, continue with this procedure.

(7) Examine the thickness of the remaining modeling clay on each lower bifurcation shim.
(a) The thickness of the remaining modeling clay on each shim must be 0.04 - 0.09 inch.

(a) The thickness of the remaining modeling clay on each shim must be 0.06 - 0.09 inch.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.
