D.  Prepare to Do the Rod End Gap Adjustment for the Locking Hydraulic Actuator.
 S 865-043-N00
 (1)  For the applicable engine, make sure these circuit breakers are closed:
 (a)  On the Main Power Distribution Panel, P6:
 1) 6F13, ENG 1 T/R CONT
 2) 6E13, ENG 2 T/R CONT
 3) 6D13, ENG 3 T/R CONT
 4) 6C13, ENG 4 T/R CONT

 S 865-044-N00
 (2)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 S 865-045-N00

 (3)
Supply hydraulic pressure to the thrust reverser system
 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 E.
Do the Rod End Gap Adjustment For the Locking Hydraulic Actuator (Fig. 502).

 S 865-046-N00
 (1)
Extend and retract the thrust reverser five times with hydraulic power (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 S 015-047-N00

 (2)
Remove the access panel for the rod end of the applicable locking actuator.

 S 225-048-N00

 (3)
Measure the clearance between the actuator rod end and the actuator cylinder.

 S 225-049-N00

 (4)
If the clearance between the actuator rod end and the actuator cylinder is 0.100 inch (2.54 mm) or less, the clearance is correct and you have completed this task.

 S 825-050-N00

 (5)
If the distance between the actuator rod end and the actuator cylinder is more than 0.100 inch (2.54 mm), do these steps:

WARNING: DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT
_______ THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  Do the deactivation procedure for the isolation valve
 (AMM 78-31-00/201).

NOTE: Do not install the the ground deactivation pins in the
____
 thrust reverser sleeves.

 (b)
Open the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).

 (c)
Manually extend the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (d)
Make sure there is no unwanted material in the tracks or on the sliders of the thrust reverser sleeves.

 (e)
Do a check for indications of excessive drag on the interface between the thrust reverser sleeve and the torque box. 1) Look for a highly polished area on the nylatron rub strip

as a sign of excessive drag.
NOTE: The nylatron rub strip should have a smooth, flat
____
 finish.

 2)  If there is an area that rubbed, remove a thin layer of the nylatron rub strip. a) Lightly sand the nylatron strips with emery cloth where
the sleeve rubs. b) Use a series of finer grit emery cloth to get a smooth, flat finish to the surface.
 (f)  Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser
 (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 S 725-051-N00
 (6)
Extend and retract the thrust reverser five times with hydraulic power (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 S 225-052-N00

 (7)
Measure the clearance between the actuator rod end and the actuator cylinder again.

 S 225-053-N00

 (8)
If the clearance between the actuator rod end and the actuator cylinder is 0.100 inch (2.54 mm) or less, the clearance is correct and you have completed this task.
