 C. Procedure
 (1) Installation
 The installation procedure for the lacing tape is related to the
 dimension code used. 
R  (a) Standard installation 
R
R  _1  Lacing tapes NSA8420-1, -2 or -7
 (Ref. Fig. 004)
 - Fold the tape in two and make a loop. 
R  - Wind tape around bundle.
 - Turn the ends of the tape into the loop.
 - Tighten the knot.
 - Add a single knot.
 - Cut the tape ends to approximately 6 mm (0.2362 in.) with
 scissors. 
R  - Put a drop of CAF 4 (Material No. 08-004) on the knot (in 
R  high temperature areas only).
R  _2  Lacing tapes NSA8420-3, -4 or -8 
R  (Ref. Fig. 005) 
R  - Wind the tape two times around the bundle. 
R  - Tighten the knot. 
R  - Add a single knot to the first knot. 
R  - Cut the tape ends to approximately 6 mm (0.2362 in.) with a 
R  heat stripper (TMC No. PB19 or PB19M), a hot soldering iron 
R  or scissors. 
R
R  _3  Lacing tapes NSA8420-3, -4, -7 or -8
 (Ref. Fig. 006) 
R  - Wind the tape two times around the bundle. 
R  - Add a single knot on the two loops.
 - Tighten the knot.
 - Add a single knot.
 - Cut the tape ends to approximately 6 mm (0.2362 in.) with a
 heat stripper (TMC No. PB19 or PB19M), a hot soldering iron
 or scissors.

 _1  Wiring of feeder cables to terminal blocks.
 (Ref. Fig. 007)
 To prevent cable friction when feeders are cross-connected to
 terminal blocks, a hanging type knot must be made between two
 crossed cables with lacing tape NSA8420-1, -2 or -7.
R  _2  Separation of "G" routes in high temperature areas 
R  (Ref. Fig. 007)
R  _3  Wiring of optical fiber cable 
R  Optical bundles are tied by lacing tape NSA8420 or cable ties 
R  NSA935401-3 after protection by a bushing NSA5539 installed on
 each optical cable at each attachment point.
R  _4  For overbraiding:
R  _a  Whipping knot with lacing tape NSA8420-7.

R  _b  Separation knot with lacing tape NSA8420-7.

 (2) Removal 
R  Cut the lacing tape with scissors held parallel to the cables so that 
R  you do not cut the cables.
