(3) Conduit end with backshell or end fitting assembling procedure
R ____NOTE : If necessary, apply the locking procedure after you tighten
R the backshell.
R (a) For conduit without halar sheath (ABS0330, ABS0492, ABS0631,
R ABS0887B, E0469, E0560, NSA935805T and NSA935806T)
(Ref. Fig. 005)
With backshell (ABS0581) or with end piece and conduit fitting
(ABS0513, ABS0519, ABS0582, ABS0584 and ABS1023):
R Select the conduit end fitting size in relation to the size of
R the screened convoluted conduit.
R - Slide the related crimping sleeve over the end of the conduit.
- Slide the braid back over the convoluted conduit.
R - Shorten the conduit by length "A".
- Select the applicable size for the expansion tool ICORE 16-0987
(Refer to chapter: Wire protection tools - 20-25-52).
This tool is used to enlarge the convoluted conduit for easy
assembly with connecting part.
R - Insert the convoluted conduit up to the shoulder, on the
R connecting part.
- Slide the braid over the shoulder (cut any frayed material at
the braid edge).
- Slide the crimping sleeve over the braid up to the stop on the
connecting part.
- Select the applicable size for the hydraulic/pneumatic crimping
tool ICORE 16-0803 or ICORE 19600 or REMA 58006-00 (Refer to
chapter: Wire protection tools - 20-25-52).
- Crimp the sleeve with this applicable tool.
R - A gap of 0.4 mm (0.0157 in.) maximum between the sleeve and
R connecting part is permitted after crimping.
- Protect the gap with DINITROL AV30 (Material No. 15-008).
R (b) For conduit with halar (E-CTFE) sheath (ABS0510, ABS0511 and
R ABS0887C)
(Ref. Fig. 006)
With backshell (ABS0327, ABS0581) or with end piece and conduit
fitting (ABS0519, ABS0582, ABS0584 and ABS1023):
R - Slide the related crimping sleeve over the end of the conduit.
- Shorten the E-CTFE braid by 10 mm (0.3937 in.)
- Slide the braid and E-CTFE braid back over the convoluted
conduit.
- Shorten the convoluted conduit by 5 mm (0.1968 in.).
- Select the applicable size for the expansion tool ICORE 16-0987
(Refer to chapter: Wire protection tools - 20-25-52).
R This tool is used to enlarge convoluted conduit for easy
R assembly with the connecting part.
