-Component designed to support and assemble electrical items for a given function, usually integrating several items of equipment and/or wires of different circuits. Theses components are covered by an aircraft drawing number.
e.g. : VB (wire bundle), VX (printed electronic circuit board). Codes of these fictitious circuits are : VB : wire bundle/harness VC : connector VD : module diode unit VE*: panel (commercial) VG : screwed ground terminal block VN : ground point VP : pressure seal VS : splice VT : terminal block VU*: panel VZ*: spare wire VX*: printed circuit board assembly
 * These fictitious components are not given in the ESPM.
 (3) Electrical Flight Control System (EFCS)
R The EFCS harnesses have specific connectors (VC). These connectors make the interface between :
 -
the different EFCS harnesses,

 -
the EFCS harnesses and equipment,

 -
the EFCS harnesses and the different VU panels to which they are

connected. R The EFCS harnesses and equipment are clearly identified by a pink R mark. R
 B. Electrical items functional identification marking (Ref. Fig. 001) The means to mark the items depends on the categories of items and the location. There are three types of means to mark :
R - Self-adhesive label (E0470 or NSA931025).
 -
Identification Sleeve (NSA937201).

 -
Identification label (E0248) with NSA935402 (Type TY-RAPS).

 ____
NOTE : In the case where the reading of the label proves to be difficult during maintenance operation, or in case of ambiguity, a second label showing the type of equipment as indicated on the wiring diagram will also be added to the loom.

 (1) Item identification on Panels and Racks
R  (a) Marking type
R R R  _1  On panels or racks, the functional identification marking is made with self-adhesive label E0470.
R R R R R R  _2  On circuit breaker panels, use label: - for areas free of hydraulic fluid, in accordance with NSA931025 Type 01, - for areas in which hydraulic fluid (E.G. : Skydrol or Hyjet IV) is found, in accordance with NSA931025 Type 02.
(b) Operation The labels are positioned above or to the left of items, and under exceptional conditions below and to the right of items. They are always visible when items are in place. They are printed in white on a black background.
_1  Pressure seals (VP) A self-adhesive label is bonded to the support on each side of the pressure seal.
_2  Splice and Diode No self-adhesive label is necessary.
_3  Ground module (VG) and group points (VN). Bond a self-adhesive label to the support near the ground module or point.
_4  Stud-type or modular terminal blocks (VT). The terminal blocks are identified by a self-adhesive label bonded to the support, near the rail.
_5  Miscellaneous equipments On circuit breakers, relays, or coded equipment items directly connected on aircraft, etc... install a self-adhesive label on the support near the equipment*.
_6  Specific Items All EFCS specific equipments (connectors, terminal blocks, relays,) are identified clearly and permanently with a pink adhesive label (E0248) bonded to the structure near each item.

 (2) Item identification on Cable Bundles (Ref. Fig. 002)
 (a) Marking type Bundle of items are identified :
 -
for cables subjected to temperatures above 150 deg.C (302.00 deg.F) by the use of label (E0248) and NSA935402 (Type TY-RAPS),

 -
for wiring subjected to temperature above 260 deg.C (500.00 deg.F) by the use of NSA937201 sleeves. This identification sleeve or label shall bear :

-in all the cases, the FIN of the item,
 -
and when the bundle ends up in a VU, the VU number,

 -
and if necessary, the functional designation.

 (b) Operation These types of markings are made of plastic. They are white for standard bundles or pink for the bundles of the EFCS items, with FIN inscription in black. They are installed on the wire bundle at 130 mm (5.1181 in.) max from the end. Their position on the bundle shall enable correct reading when the bundle terminations are connected.
 _1  Rack connectors
Install an identification label E0248 on the connectors ARINC
 600 and 404A (E0161, E0163, E0165 and E0086, E0145, E0147) or
 derived connectors.

 ____
NOTE : When segregation is required, the identification is installed on one bundle and does not group the other routes.
