R  - Insert the convoluted conduit up to the shoulder, on the
R  connecting part.
R  - Slide the braid over the shoulder and up against the E-CTFE
R  (cut all frayed material at the braid edge).
 - Slide the crimping sleeve over the braid up to the stop on the
 connecting part.
 - Select the applicable size for the hydraulic/pneumatic crimping
tool ICORE 16-0803 or ICORE 19600 or REMA 58006-0 (Refer to
chapter: Wire protection tools - 20-25-52).
____NOTE : The crimping process is done in two steps. The dies have
two crimp cavities, identified "1" and "2", for each step.
 - Install the correct dies on the tool.
R  - Insert the connecting part in the tool with crimp cavity "1"
R  until the stop side of the sleeve is aligned with the edge.
R  - Make sure that the parts which stay loose are held in the
R  correct position.
R
 - Operate the foot switch to start the crimping process.
R  - Hold the foot switch down until the dies move together and the
R  pressure of the tool hydraulics increases.
R  - When step "1" of the process is completed, remove the
R  connecting part from crimp cavity "1", turn it by 90 degrees
R  and put it in position in die crimp cavity "2" as for cavity
 "1".
 - Repeat the process as for cavity "1".
 - Crimp the sleeve with this applicable tool.
R  - A gap of 0.4 mm (0.0157 in.) maximum between the sleeve and
R  connecting part is permitted after crimping.
 - Protect the gap with DINITROL AV30 (Material No. 15-008).
 D. Conduit attachments and electrical bonding
 (Ref. Fig. 007)
R  - Conduits are supported by clamps along the conduit run and the conduit
R  ends.
R
 - If a lightning protection conduit is connected to a non-conductive
R  connector or not electrically connected at the end fitting, you can
R  install a bonding clamp on the crimping sleeve. This gives electrical
R  bonding between the conduit and the aircraft main structure.

 ____________________4. Overbraided conduits
 A. General
R  This type of protection consists of metal strands (ABS5315) machine woven
around the electrical harness during its manufacture.
(For example, this method is used for F00030090 or F00730606)
 B. Conduit end with backshell assembly procedure
 (Ref. Fig. 008)
R  (1) Example of installation:

R  - Install the braid on the wires (if necessary, first install an
R  internal protection with teflon tape ABS5330 or ABS0294, convoluted
R  conduit ABS0887 or shrink sleeve NSA937210 and then the backshell
R  (e.g. ABS0280 or ABS0281 backshells) before you connect them to the
R  connector.
R  - Identify the metal overbraid start-stop points with red vinyl
R  adhesive tape ABS5332.
R  - If necessary, shape a bonding pigtail at the end conduit of the
R  metal overbraid, on the internal protection.
R  - If necessary you can install an external protection (Self-welding
R  tape ABS5334, split textile conduit EN6049-006 or 007, or halar
R  (E-CTFE) braid ABS0890).

R  (a) Screw the backshell on the connector (step 1).
R  (b) If necessary, install the grounding pigtail around the internal
R  protection and attach with internal lacing tape (step 2).

R  - Insert the overbraid end on the backshell.
R  - You must fold the overbraid end to length "L" and cut it to
R  keep sharp protruding strands to a minimum.
R  - Attach the bonding pigtail area with external lacing tapes
R  NSA8420-7.
R
R  ____NOTE : Strand ends must not extend onto the backshell end.

R  (c) Install a metallic clamping strip E0805 (step 3).
R  - Wrap the overbraid with self-welding tape ABS5334 at pigtail
