On the panel 25VU, press the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch then make sure that the APU air intake flap has moved to the fully open position.

Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3)
Set the light SW 11LJ to the ON position.
4. Procedure

Subtask 49-16-00-110-050
A. Cleaning of the APU Air Intake System.
(1) Make an inspection of the air intake duct and the APU Doors 315AL and 316AR for grease and oil contamination.
-If you find any contamination do the following procedure:
(a)
Clean the APU air intake flap, the air intake duct internally and the APU Doors. Use pure CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-011) as a spray with a pressure of 2-3 bar (29-43.5 psi) on:
-
the inner walls of the installed air intake duct,
-
the inner walls of the air intake housing including intake flap,
-
the installed APU Doors.
(b)
Let the cleaning agent stay on the surfaces for 20 mins. to complete the cleaning process.
(c) Rinse the cleaning agent from the surfaces with a hot-steam R water-cleaner at max. temperature and pressure of max. 5 bar R (72.5 psi)
(d)
Inspect the surfaces after the cleaning procedure.
(e)
Let the walls dry (15 min).
(f)
Start and operate the APU in the RTL or GEN LOAD mode for 15 mins. (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-003).
(g)
Shutdown the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-004).
(2) Do an inspection of the air intake duct for grease and oil contamination.
-if the APU air intake duct is clean and dry the cleaning procedure is completed.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3)
Close the APU access doors 316AR, 315AL (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4)
Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 49-16-00-865-068
B.
Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
On the panel 25VU, push the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch and make sure that the APU air intake flap moves to the fully closed position.
(2)
Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
(Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(3)
De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(4)
Remove the warning notice(s).
