Do a tap check on all of the air intake system feltmetal surfaces, the guide surfaces and the guide vanes (6).

Do a tap check for delamination on the external sandwich structure of the air inlet duct (3), the air intake nose (9) and the air intake flap (11) . Do this at distances of 20 mm (0.7874 in.) in rows of 20 mm (0.7874 in.) apart.
1_ Do a check of the damping-plate.
A damage is permitted when:
- max. dimension of damage is: width 2mm; length 5mm; depth
1mm
- damage has no effect on inner surface of the plate
- outer surface adjacent to the damage area has no cracks,
delamination or other damage.
At next C-Check, do the inspection of the damping-plate again.
NOTE : No delamination , distortion or other damage is allowed.

A. Visual Inspection.
(1)
Before inspection clean the air intake system (Ref. TASK 49-16-00-100-001).
(2)
Examine the flexible seals (5), (8) and (10) for wear, tears and porosity.
(a)
If any of the damage described in para (2) exists replace the seal(s).
(b)
Measure the dimension K of the seal (5) in the expanded condition, the seal must be a minimum of X + 2mm.
NOTE : X is the dimension between the inlet duct Y seal support
____ frame and the inlet plenum frame of the APU compressor, the clearence must be 18.0 +2.0 -6.0mm (0.7086 +0.0787 -0.2362in.) with closed 316AR APU door. K is the expanded seal height, this is the average hight of the two sides. (inner and outer flange).
(c) Measure the height of the seal (8) in the expanded condition, the seal must be a minimum of 20 +1 -0 mm (0.7874 +0.0393 -0.0000 in.) from the surface of the nut-plate to the top face of the seal at all points of conntact.
(3) Air Intake System
(a)
Examine the air intake system external and internal surfaces for delamination, distortion and cracks. Examine the diverter for damage.
(b)
Examine the air intake system for damage caused through ice particles, corrosion, erosion or unwanted objects.
1 Do a check of the damping-plate.
