R  (a) Put the probe (11) in the correct position and loosely install 
R  the bolts (1) and the washers (2). 
R  (b) Measure the clearance between the structure and the top and 
R  bottom of the probe (11). Make sure that the clearance is a 
R  minimum of 7.0 mm (0.2755 in.). 
R  NOTE : When a probe is installed, a minimum clearance of 7.0 mm____ 
R  (0.2755 in.) is recommended. (A clearance of less than 7.0 
R  mm (0.2755 in.) but more than 5.0 mm (0.1968 in.) is 
R  acceptable, if local installation does not allow 
R  recommened clearance) 
R  (c) To prevent possible static discharge, make sure that the fuel 
R  probe is not less than 5.0 mm (0.1968 in.) from: 
R  - the nearest structure 
R  - rib and tank wall 
R  - pipework 
R  - brackets and p-clips 
R  - fasteners and other metal parts. 
R  (d) TORQUE the bolts (1) to between 0.45 and 0.56 m.daN (39.82 and 
R  49.55 lbf.in). 
R  (e) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors. 
R  (f) Identify and connect the electrical connectors of the cable (10) 
R  with the screws (5), (6) and (7). 
R  (g) TORQUE the screws (5), (6) and (7) as follows: 
R  - the screw (5) to between 0.102 and 0.124 m.daN (9.02 and 10.97 
R  lbf.in) 
R  - the screw (6) to between 0.203 and 0.226 m.daN (17.96 and 19.99 
R  lbf.in)

 

R  - the screw (7) to between 0.316 and 0.362 m.daN (27.96 and 32.03 
R  lbf.in). 
R  (h) Put the cable (10) in position under the clamp block (8) and 
R  TORQUE the clamp screw (9) to between 0.023 and 0.045 m.daN (2.03 
R  and 3.98 lbf.in). 
R  (i) Install the cable ties (2), as necessary, to attach the cable 
R  (10) to the probe (11).

R  C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit 
R  breaker(s): 
R  1QT, 2QT, 8QT.

R  (3) Remove the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) and carefully close the 
R  spring-loaded surge door 540AZ (640AZ). 
R  (4) Remove the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) and carefully close the 
R  spring-loaded surge door 540BZ (640BZ). 
R  (5) Install the applicable access panels (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-001) or 
R  (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-002): 
R  - FOR 21QT1, 23QT1, 25QT1, 26QT1, 54QT1, 56QT1 
R  - install 540AB: 
R  - FOR 28QT1, 27QT1
